Does Dupuytren’s contracture occur in feet?

Does Dupuytrens occur in feet, are they not
the same as hands. I have painful feet too like
my hands. Thanks.

If you already know you have Dupuytren’s contracture in your hands, it is possible to have a similar problem of fibrosis in the feet also.  When the problem of tissue fibrosis occurs in the hands it is called Dupuytren’s contracture.  When tissue fibrosis occurs in the feet it is called Ledderhose disease.  Both conditions can be painful.

  1. Joyce Miller DelSoldato says:

I have Dupuytren Contracture in my hand and I have been very generous and shared it with my three children. My Mother also had it and her Mother’s family came from Denmark.
I also had a growth on my foot and had surgery to remove it several years ago, it was never diagnosed as Dupuytren Contracture.

  2. Dr. Herazy says:

    Greetings Joyce,

It is not unusual for someone to have both Dupuytren’s contracture and Ledderhose disease. In cases where there is a strong genetic predisposition, as apparently with you, the fibromatosis will appear in different areas of the body. TRH
